With over 100km of singltrack trails accessible from downtown, a downhill park at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, and part of the famous Golden Triangle road circuit, Golden is host to many cycling events.

Downhill Mountain Biking

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort boasts the longest descent (4,000 ft) in Canada and the highest downhill bike park in N. America. The Golden Eagle Gondola makes accessing alpine trails and an array of stunts easy. Golden is also blessed with Mount 7; one of the finest and most challenging downhill systems in Canada, and the real deal for hard-core downhill enthusiasts.

Cross Country Mountain Biking

Golden boasts over 100km of singletrack trails on the Moonraker and Mountain Shadows trail networks.

Tandem Paragliding in Golden BC

Eight world records for distance and speed have been set from the launch at Mount 7 in Golden BC, including the first world record set by Randy Haney. Visitors can get a bird's eye view of the Columbia Valley, River and Wetlands and the Rockies and Purcell and Selkirk Mountains on a tandem paraglide from the top of Mount 7.

Backcountry skiing

Located close to the famous Rogers Pass, Golden is recognised as the ski touring capital of the world, and has over 20 backcountry lodges and huts in its back yard. With 3 heli-skiing operations and 1 cat ski operator, and many ACMG qualified guides to assist with multi or single day ski touring experiences, Golden is a must on all backcountry skiers bucket lists.

Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is the longest freestanding timberframe bridge in Canada. Built in 2001 from locally sourced timbers, and with Swiss design reflecting the heritage of the Swiss Guides in Golden, the bridge spans the Kicking Horse River in downtown Golden. Cyclists and walkers cross continously, and in the summer rafts pass underneath on the final stretch of their thrilling whitewater rafting trip.
